Terms of Service
Effective date: [[2026-00-00]] · Operator: [[Business name]] (contact details on the Legal notice page)
1. The service
- We read the lines on a vet receipt, estimate or lab sheet, explain them in plain words, and show where each amount sits against public price data and anonymous statistics of bills contributed by other users.
- This is a cost explanation, not veterinary advice. We do not practice veterinary medicine, diagnose, prescribe or recommend treatments, and we do not recommend or rank clinics.
- Verdicts are reference information based on public data and statistics. The same line can legitimately cost more or less depending on the test panel, the animal's condition and the clinic's equipment.
2. Free use and the 12-month pass
- Reading, line explanations and the per-line verdict are free.
- The detail of lines above the local median, questions for your vet and a note for the clinic open for 12 months in one of two ways:
- adding your bill to the anonymous statistics (free), or
- buying a 12-month pass for $5 (local taxes may be added at checkout).
- The pass is tied to the device cookie of the browser you bought it in. Keep your order ID in case you clear cookies.
3. Purchases and refunds
- Purchases are made from Polar Software Inc., which acts as the merchant of record and handles receipts and sales tax. Polar's terms and refund policy apply to the transaction.
- The pass is digital content delivered immediately after payment. If the reading failed or the pass did not open because of a fault on our side, we refund the full amount. Email [[email]] with your order ID.
4. Contributing a bill
- When you add a bill, only line names, amounts and area are merged into anonymous statistics. Clinic names and personal data are never included.
- Only bills that passed photo reading enter the statistics; typed-in bills unlock the pass only.
- A contributed bill cannot be separated from the statistics afterwards.
5. Your obligations
Do not upload someone else's bill without permission, add false amounts, send automated or repeated requests, or use results to defame a clinic.
6. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
- The service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for reading errors, errors or delays in public data, or service interruptions, except in cases of intent or gross negligence.
- Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Mandatory consumer protection law prevails over this clause.
7. Intellectual property
Explanations, the interface and the characters are ours. You may save and share your own result page for personal use.
8. Changes and governing law
- We post changes on this page at least 7 days before they take effect.
- These terms are governed by the laws of [[State/Country]]. Mandatory consumer rights of your country of residence remain unaffected.
